Michael & Ronnie
We are a loving, caring couple who share interests in music, art, and laughter. For over a decade, we have known we wanted to have a family. Adoption is a hard but caring choice for any person to make, and if you would consider us to be a part of your adoption journey, you will find nothing but loving people who care about not only your child but you as an individual.
Our Leisure Time

We both really love the arts and music is a big part of both our lives. At a young age, Ronnie took singing lessons, and Michael learned how to play the guitar.
On occasion, we journey to Los Angeles to enjoy touring productions of plays and musicals. Theme parks have also been a big source of inspiration and leisure, from how attractions operate to seasonal offerings. Disneyland, Universal, and Knott’s Berry Farm are always delightful to visit.
Recently, we have ventured into local events, attending food festivals, enjoying museums, and volunteering with a cat rescue. If we have extra time during the day, Ronnie enjoys knitting, baking, and reading, while Michael enjoys playing the guitar, cooking, and writing.
To wind down, we both enjoy watching story-driven TV and movies.
How We Met

Back in 2012, we were both working at Walt Disney World in the Disney College Program.
At the time, Michael was working in merchandise in Frontierland, and Ronnie was working at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Cinderella's Castle.
After work, we were both waiting at a bus stop to go home. While waiting, Ronnie approached Michael and asked if she could pin trade a Disney pin that was on Michael’s lanyard. They pin traded, then started talking on the bus ride home.
The next day, Michael had the day off and was going to the Magic Kingdom to enjoy the day. When he got on the bus, Ronnie was going to work at the same time. We both sat down next to each other, and from then on, we always made time to see each other.
Education We will Provide

Education is important to both of us. Local schools offer a wide range of programs to help develop a child's interests and social skills.
Additionally, we plan to let the child learn through age-appropriate play and will assist with pursuing hobbies once the child expresses interest. Of course, the goal is to have the child become a well-rounded adult. If the child decides to pursue higher education, then we will have a college fund established for them.
We would also let the child know that there are additional opportunities in skilled labor or trade schools. We don’t believe that education is a straight line that ends. Education is about lifelong learning and sparking curiosity to learn more. We think it’s important to be open and discuss a child's interests, whether that be music, math, sports, or English.
At the end of the day, it’s about the child’s happiness, and we plan to support that in any way we can through education.

Our Extended Families

Our extended family spans across two states. Michael has family in Southern California, with his parents living around 10 minutes away from our home. Michael has several cousins with multiple children. A few times a year, his cousins get together and either do a BBQ or go to Disneyland. Ronnie’s family lives in Northern Nevada. We typically try to get together around once every three months, and we tend to alternate holidays with our families. When Ronnie’s family comes down to Southern California, we normally go to Disneyland or find an event, like a sports game, to attend when they visit. If we travel to Reno, we stay with Ronnie’s parents and make plans with her sister and nephews. We typically plan on enjoying home-cooked meals, playing board games, watching movies, or perhaps attending some fun Reno events, such as the Rib Cook-Off or Hot August Nights.

When we first brought up adoption to our family, we were met with love and support. Michael’s family was so excited to hear that we are making arrangements to become a family. Ronnie’s family was also very supportive as they are no strangers when it comes to adoption. Ronnie’s father is adopted and has always shown love towards his adoptive parents. For us, adoption has never been a taboo subject. It is simply a way to raise and child in a safe and loving environment.
Our House and Neighborhood

We live in Southern California, and we are surrounded by diverse people, events, and entertainment. However, most days we feel like we live in a small community. We volunteer at a cat rescue, and that allows us to build relationships with owners at several local shops, from bookstores to art studios.
Our city holds several annual events each year. Coming up this summer is a 4th of July park and fireworks show with several vendors and prize booths. There are also lots of new dining options, so much so that one of our outdoor malls is holding a Taste of the City event where people can try multiple restaurants at once. Every time we look at our city’s newsletter, we seem to find a new swap meet, antique fair, or cooking event.
Our neighborhood is by two elementary schools and surrounded by lots of families. We are walking distance from a small park that always has families playing games, on the playground, or flying kites. The park has plenty of natural wildlife, with bunnies and squirrels. Additionally, our community has a pool, basketball court, and tennis court.
We live in a quiet two-bedroom, two-bath condo. We spend most of our days in the family room and kitchen. Michael enjoys cooking, and we normally find ourselves watching either YouTube, Disney+, or Netflix in the evenings. We are on a first-name basis with most of our neighbors.
We are always saying hi to their dogs while catching up with everyone.
From Us to You

Hello, we are Michael and Ronnie, and we want to say thank you for taking the time to view our profile. When it comes to adoption, we understand that it truly takes a village. It’s a decision that affects not only the adoptive family but the birth family as well. We know that birth mothers are some of the strongest, caring individuals out there, and we know that you are making a huge decision. It’s a decision that puts a child's needs first.
We have been together as a couple for over a decade and have been married for three years. We first met in Florida back in 2012, both attending the Disney College Program. One day, while waiting for a bus to go home, Ronnie approached Michael and asked to trade some Disney pins. We rode the bus together and started to talk about our jobs, hobbies, and passions. When Ronnie’s stop came up too soon, Michael instantly regretted not asking for her phone number. As fate would have it, the next day, Michael got on the bus to go to Walt Disney World on his day off, only to find Ronnie already on it, heading into work. We talked the whole ride and finally exchanged phone numbers.
We spent a few months together and discovered our shared love of Disney, theme parks, movies, and entertainment. After our college program ended, we kept our relationship going long-distance until we both had the opportunity to move to California. We share a passion for the arts, including theater, music, shows, and entertainment. We are constantly venturing into new cities or watching new touring productions. We love having new adventures and have always imagined ourselves sharing those moments with a child in the future.
Throughout the years, we’ve been through a rollercoaster of highs and lows. Some of the lows we experienced were having to push back our wedding date to 2021 and not being able to travel for a honeymoon; however, during that time, we were able to work with a realtor and purchase our first home. In 2016, Ronnie had multiple ailments that required several ER and hospital visits. After many meetings with doctors, it was determined that Ronnie had a large tumor. A date was set for surgery, and the procedure went well. We thought the entire situation was behind us. However, it was discovered that the tumor was cancerous.
We had to see a specialist, and due to the location and type of tumor, the doctor recommended a life-changing surgery that would affect how we were going to build a family. Ronnie had the surgery in 2018 and, as a result, has been cancer-free for over 7 years. During that time, we were able to revaluate what is important to us, our future, and our family. We know these challenges have made us a stronger team. We won’t tell you we are perfect - Perfect is boring, but we can assure you that we will always do what’s best for whatever child we are fortunate enough to have join our family.
When it comes to our home, we enjoy living in an environment that is warm, comfortable, loving, and full of laughter. It is not uncommon for our place to smell of home-cooked meals or baked goods. Our small community is close to parks and schools with other loving families. We believe in finding what sparks joy in life, whether that is playing music, cooking, crafting, or participating in sports. A loving home to us is one of acceptance and joy.
We want to assure you that we are open to sharing pictures and letters with you through multiple forms of contact, including emails, phone calls, texts, and travel when the opportunity arises. Thank you again for your consideration and for taking the time to view our profile.
