Gavin & Austin

We are Gavin and Austin — a married couple together since 2019 — and becoming parents has always been part of our shared vision. We embrace open communication, curiosity, and simple joys, and we are committed to creating a home rooted in stability, laughter, learning, and love. We hold deep gratitude for you and the strength it takes to consider adoption.

We also share our home with Willow, our gentle and affectionate five year old dog. She joins us on every hike, road trip, and lazy Sunday morning, and she is wonderful with children, especially our niece and nephew.

What it Means to be a Parent

Wedding with Niece and Nephew

For us, parenting is a privilege, the chance to guide a child as they grow into exactly who they are meant to be. We imagine morning breakfasts together, cheering from the sidelines at sports games, building forts on rainy days, reading bedtime stories, creating holiday traditions, and helping a child feel deeply known and heard.

We spend a lot of time with our 9‑year‑old niece and 8‑year‑old nephew, swimming, fishing, building sandcastles, eating ice cream, and watching their favorite movies. These ordinary but meaningful moments are the ones we most look forward to sharing with a child of our own. Our parenting style will be:

  • Present and attentive, especially with big emotions
  • Playful and curious, encouraging exploration
  • Structured where needed, with warmth and consistency
  • Intentional, creating memories through everyday moments

We want the child to grow up feeling safe, supported, celebrated, and surrounded by love.

Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other

One of our greatest strengths is our partnership.

Austin, in Gavin’s words, is compassionate, thoughtful, adventurous, and deeply authentic. He shows love by being fully present — asking questions, listening closely, and making people feel appreciated. His curiosity about the world, especially nature and science, will inspire a child to explore and think broadly.

Gavin, in Austin’s words, is patient, steady, generous, and grounded. He shows love through acts of service, often cooking or baking for friends and family. In his work supporting nonprofits, he brings responsibility and calm problem-solving — qualities that will create a stable, comforting home for a child.

We communicate with mutual respect, especially during challenges. We pause, reflect what the other is feeling, and move forward as a team. We know these qualities will guide us as parents.

Discussing Adoption

Adoption, to us, is a profound expression of love and courage. We believe a child’s story should be honored and spoken about openly from the very beginning. The child will always know:

  • Their story is beautiful
  • You are an important part of who they are
  • Their beginnings are rooted in love, strength, and thoughtfulness

We are open to ongoing connection — letters, photos, texts, video updates, or visits — if that is something you are comfortable with. Our hope is to build a relationship that supports everyone involved and helps the child feel secure in all parts of their identity.

Their story will always belong to them, and we will protect and celebrate it.

Our Extended Families

Putt Putt With Family

We are incredibly lucky to have close-knit, loving extended families who are a joyful and steady presence in our lives. Both of our families are talkative, fun, and full of laughter, and we stay connected daily with them. Gavin’s family lives nearby, making it easy to gather often, while Austin’s family lives in the southern states, and we make a point to visit them frequently for holidays, birthday celebrations, and vacations.

Family Get Together

Holidays are especially meaningful in our families and are always celebrated together, no matter the distance. These gatherings are filled with shared meals, long conversations, and plenty of laughter. Cooking is a favorite tradition, and watching sports often brings everyone together with friendly competition and lots of cheering.

Spending time outdoors is especially important to Austin and Gavin's family, who love beach days, sunshine, and relaxed time together by the water. Whether it is a beach vacation, a backyard gathering, or a weekend visit close to home, time together is always the priority. Whether it's road trips or plane rides, travel plays a big role in keeping everyone connected.

Austin’s and Gavin’s families are overjoyed and fully supportive of our adoption plan. They often speak with excitement about welcoming a child. This child will grow up surrounded by love, laughter (with a hint of sarcasm), encouragement, and a strong sense of belonging.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Condo Building

We live in a welcoming, family‑oriented neighborhood in Pennsylvania that blends the best of urban convenience with the warmth of a close community. Our two‑bedroom, two‑bath home is in a friendly mid‑rise building filled with young families, incredible staff, and neighbors who genuinely look out for one another. One of our favorite places is our balcony, where we enjoy morning coffee or unwind at sunset.

What we love most is the environment just beyond our front door. The area is surrounded by parks, green spaces, children’s play areas, and tree‑lined walkways where families gather throughout the day. In the warmer months, you’ll often see kids splashing in nearby water play areas, practicing soccer or t‑ball in the neighborhood parks, or exploring nature‑themed playgrounds. We’re also just steps from a large waterfront trail that’s perfect for stroller walks, bike rides, and weekend picnics.

Our community is full of opportunities for learning and exploration. Several family‑friendly cultural centers, a science and natural history museum, multiple art museums, a public library, a skate park, and other creative spaces are all within a short walk. It’s an area where children can grow up surrounded by hands‑on discovery, imagination, and everyday adventure.

Daily life here is incredibly easy. We can walk to grocery stores, cafés, playgrounds, locally owned shops, and many of the places we visit most often. The area is safe, lively, and wonderfully walkable, with families, students, dog walkers, and neighbors filling the sidewalks.

It’s a vibrant, nurturing place full of energy and community—an environment where a child can play, learn, and grow with endless opportunities right outside their door.

From Us to You

We want to begin by saying how grateful we are that you’re taking the time to read our profile and learn a little bit about us. We can only imagine the mix of emotions you may be feeling as you consider your options, and we hold enormous respect for the strength, love, and thoughtfulness behind every step you are navigating. We don’t take lightly the courage it takes to explore adoption, and we want you to know that we see you, we honor you, and we’re committed to approaching this process with compassion, humility, and openness.

We’ve been together for more than seven years, and from the very beginning, becoming parents was something we hoped to share. For us, adoption has always been a natural part of how we envisioned building our family. Our home is full of warmth, curiosity, laughter, routines, and simple everyday joys — morning dog walks with Willow, trying new bakeries, exploring parks, cooking together, and spending weekends with our families and close friends. We imagine a child becoming part of those moments naturally, joining in pancake mornings, cozy movie nights, camping trips, and family traditions that mean so much to us.

We know you may be thinking about the kind of life you want for a child, and we would be honored to help provide that. We want to raise a child who is kind, curious, and compassionate — someone who feels safe asking questions, exploring their world, and expressing their emotions openly. We hope to teach them to notice the small, beautiful details in life: a bright flower in bloom, a new bird spotted on a morning walk (something Austin always gets excited about), or the quiet feeling of sitting still and watching the world move around them (one of Gavin’s favorite ways to unwind). Most of all, we want them to grow up knowing that big feelings are welcome in our home and that we will always be here to listen, guide, and support them. We will encourage their curiosity and creativity through books at bedtime, afternoons spent learning and exploring, travel to visit family across the country, and camping under the stars — helping them discover passions that are uniquely their own.

We are excited for the small and steady rhythms of parenthood — we can already picture: packing school lunches, cheering from sidelines, celebrating milestones big and small, helping with homework at the kitchen table, and creating a home where a child feels safe expressing themselves and deeply known for who they are. We look forward to sharing the things we love — Gavin’s passion for sports and baking, Austin’s love for nature and curiosity about the world — and creating new traditions together.

Our families and closest friends are a huge part of our lives. We spend weekends with grandparents, enjoy weekly dinners with our chosen family, and treasure the time we spend with our niece and nephew, who bring so much joy, noise, and adventure into our lives. They are the people who show up — for dinners, birthdays, scraped knees, and everyday life — and they’re eager to surround a child with that same steady love.

If you choose us, we promise that the child will grow up knowing their story with honesty, respect, and love. We will talk about adoption openly from the beginning, making sure the child always knows that their story began with your courage and care. We are open to ongoing contact — letters, photos, texts, updates, or visits ?" in whatever ways feel healthy and right for you. We want you to feel included, respected, and reassured that the child is thriving and deeply loved.

Thank you for considering us and for allowing us to share our hearts with you. We would be honored to walk this path with you, and if chosen, we promise to provide a life filled with stability, opportunity, adventure, and unconditional love. Most importantly, we promise that your child will always know they are cherished by us — and by you.

With love and gratitude,

Gavin & Austin
