Lifestyle

Our Beautiful Family

During the week, Logan and Sarah trade off taking Zoey to school. Logan works in the office and enjoys every other Friday off, while Sarah’s hybrid schedule gives her flexibility to balance work and home life. Even on busy weekdays, we make it a priority to share dinner and spend time together at the end of the day. After dinner, we sit together while Zoey curls up beside us and we read bedtime stories. These small daily routines are some of our favorite moments and reflect the kind of home life we want to build.

Hiking in Hawaii

On weekends, we often spend one day going on adventures and the other enjoying time at home. An adventure day might start with pancakes at home or donuts from a local shop before heading out to a farm, the children’s symphony, or a community event. On our slower paced day, we like to spend time playing with the water table, blowing bubbles, riding bikes with neighborhood friends, or doing crafts together. Whether we are out exploring or enjoying a day at home, it’s the time we spend together that we love the most.

Education I/We will Provide

Making Valentine's Day Cards

We hope to nurture our children’s curiosity, support their interests, and provide the resources for them to grow into their fullest selves. We want our children to believe they can pursue anything they put their minds to. Education is not about grades, but about helping a child be their best and our role as parents is to support them and help navigate through any challenges they face. When Sarah was a child, she struggled to learn to read and spent several years reading below grade level. With the support of her parents and teachers, she received extra help at school and practiced at home until she succeeded. That experience shaped our belief in meeting children where they are and helping them grow with patience and love.

Learning is part of our everyday life. We read with Zoey every day and look forward to sharing the same with our future child. Sarah also enjoys planning crafts and games that are both fun and teach new things, and looks forward to sharing this with our future child. We hope to create a home where learning feels exciting and full of encouragement. We are also committed to supporting our children throughout their lives both emotionally and financially. We have already begun putting savings aside for their future, whether it be college or another path, so that they can pursue their dreams with confidence and a strong sense of support.

Cultural Heritage

Our family’s cultural heritage is primarily white, though it also includes a connection to Chinese culture. Sarah’s grandfather immigrated to the United States from Hong Kong as an adult, and his heritage has remained an important part of Sarah’s family story. Sarah is one quarter Chinese and has always appreciated the blend of cultures in her background.

Growing up, Sarah’s maiden last name was Chinese, which often sparked conversations about her heritage. Her family also incorporated traditions that celebrated that part of their culture. They gave lucky money in red envelopes for special occasions and often enjoyed Chinese food together on Christmas Eve. Sarah remembers learning to use chopsticks as a young child and feeling proud to share that connection to her family’s heritage. She also loved learning how to make dumplings and visiting China in middle school, an experience she still remembers fondly. Sarah enjoys now sharing these traditions with our family. Together, we give red envelopes to nieces and nephews, enjoy dim sum, and recently took Zoey to her first Lion Dance. If the child we adopt has a different or mixed cultural background, we hope to help them feel proud of and connected to their heritage by learning about it together and celebrating traditions that are meaningful to them.

Our House and Neighborhood

Home Sweet Home

Our one-story home is in a family-friendly Texas suburb and has four bedrooms, an office, and a playroom. The spacious layout surprised us in the best way, turning the entryway and living space into a perfect spot for scooters, ride-on toys, and other indoor adventures. Outside, we have a fenced backyard with a playset and a screened-in patio that we enjoy year round. In summer, we love splashing at the water table and grilling in the shade. In winter, we have cozy outdoor movie nights together with s’mores.

Our neighborhood offers so much for families. Within walking distance are a pool with a lazy river, a splash pad, a community garden, and several parks. There are many families with children of all ages, and we often see our next-door neighbors and their friends outside riding bikes or playing basketball. A great preschool is also nearby, with caring and experienced teachers.

Being part of a vibrant community gives us many opportunities to make family memories. We love exploring nearby local farms, fall festivals, and Christmas markets. We also like to venture into the city for activities like kids’ orchestra concerts, the children’s museum, and the zoo. We hope to share all of these experiences with a future child.

Our Extended Families

Easter With Family

We feel fortunate to have a close and supportive family. Sarah’s parents, her two sisters, and Logan’s mom all live within driving distance, so we often spend long weekends and holidays with them. Logan’s dad lives in North Carolina, and his brother and family live in New York. We stay connected through FaceTime and look forward to every opportunity to visit.

Visiting With Sarah's Grandfather

We are also surrounded by a large and loving extended family. Family gatherings are lively, loud, and full of laughter. They often include backyard games or puzzles inside. While our daughter has four cousins, we lovingly refer to all the children in our extended family as cousins too. Three of these cousins live in our neighborhood and on weekends we often meet at the park or splash pad for the kids to play together. The afternoons usually end with a big family dinner.

Our families have been incredibly supportive of our adoption journey, and we cannot wait to welcome another child into a home filled with unconditional love.

From Us to You

Thank you for taking the time to read about us. We know this is not an easy decision, and we deeply admire the love and courage it takes to consider this choice. We hope this letter gives you a sense of who we are and the life we hope to provide. Above all, we want to share our promise to love your child just as you do, endlessly and unconditionally.

We are Sarah and Logan. We’ve been married for three years, and our story goes back more than fifteen years to when we first met in college. Our relationship is built on love, respect, and trust, and each challenge we’ve faced together has made us stronger. We support one another fully and bring that same teamwork and care to parenting.

Both of us grew up with siblings and value how meaningful our bonds are with them. We look forward to your child having a sister with our daughter Zoey (currently two), and to helping them grow up with a strong and lasting connection. While we cannot have more biological children, our hearts are still open and ready to love another child just as deeply. Beyond our immediate family, your child will be surrounded by many people who will care for them, encourage them, and celebrate them. From the very first moments, our grandparents can’t wait to cheer them on during tummy time and show them the swings at the park where they’ll play in the years that follow. They will also be surrounded by aunts, uncles, and cousins who will turn every family gathering into a lively time, including them in games and the buzz of family conversations as they grow up.

We want to raise our children in a home filled with happy memories. Sarah looks forward to discovering their interests and sharing some of her own, like gymnastics or rock climbing. Logan is excited to share his love of music, choosing vinyl records together and watching them spin on the turntable. We will always make time for creative activities too, like fruit loop bracelets or homemade play dough. As they grow older, there will be lots of board games and movie nights. Most of all, we look forward to helping them grow into the wonderful person they are meant to be.

Our approach to parenting is rooted in openness, compassion, and understanding. We believe in leading without judgment and strive to create a home where we all, including you, are met with respect, acceptance, and care, even when our paths or perspectives may look different. We would welcome a relationship in whatever way feels comfortable for you and will always honor the role you play in your child’s life. We would love to share letters and pictures with you, and we would welcome additional contact if that feels right, whether through emails, cards, phone calls, or future visits. We also have family traditions, like sending turkey handprint cards at Thanksgiving, that we would love to share and would be excited to incorporate any traditions that are meaningful to you.

We are truly grateful for your consideration and for taking the time to get to know our family. As parents ourselves, we recognize the weight and journey of pregnancy and are wishing you peace as you navigate what comes next. From the bottom of our hearts, we promise to love your little one endlessly and unconditionally, just as you do. Every cuddle, hug, and smile will be filled with the same warmth and care that your heart carries today.

With Love,

Logan & Sarah
