Cuong & Claudia
We are humbled you are considering us as parents for your child. We understand that this is a difficult time, and we won't pretend to know the wide range of emotions you are feeling. Please know that even though we haven't met (yet) we are rooting for you, whatever choice you make. If you choose adoption and decide to pick us, please know that we are ready to love your child to infinity and beyond.
Our Leisure Time

In our leisure time, we each have our own personal hobbies that we deeply enjoy. Claudia loves traveling, reading all kinds of books, and spending time outdoors—whether it's hiking or simply enjoying the sun while working on her garden. She also stays close to her family in Germany through regular video chats and letters.
Cuong, on the other hand, has a passion for animals, playing the piano, watching movies, and indulging in good food. He enjoys sports and often spends time transcribing songs for the piano. He also loves playing video games with his brother-in-law.
Together, we love cooking and sharing meals—though DoorDash is often a helpful backup! We enjoy traveling and talking to people, learning about new cultures, and hanging out with our dogs. We're also big fans of concerts, even though our music tastes don't always align.
As a couple, we look forward to sharing these activities with our future child. We're excited to introduce them to the joy of hiking, reading, and perhaps some piano lessons from Cuong. Family-friendly games like board games, puzzles, and outdoor sports will definitely be part of our fun. We also can't wait to explore new places together, attend local cultural festivals, or even family outings to petting zoos or nature reserves.
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other

Claudia About Cuong: Cuong is the most supportive and genuine person I have ever met. From the beginning of our relationship, I realized what a healthy and loving partnership should truly feel like. Whether I'm dealing with challenges at work, conflicts with friends, or simply have something on my mind, Cuong is always there to listen and to offer thoughtful insight. I feel appreciated, respected, and seen as an equal in our relationship.
Cuong is also incredibly patient, especially with children. Watching him interact with kids made me realize he is the right person to build a family with. He brings calm, warmth, and kindness into every space he's in. He's just amazing!
Cuong About Claudia: Claudia is my best friend and the person I feel most at home with. She is thoughtful and passionate, and while we may be different in some ways, we share the same core values and ideals in life. She supports me through every challenge and brings out the best in me with her encouragement and kindness.
Claudia puts care and attention into all her relationships, making those around her feel seen and valued. She is compassionate, strong, and deeply caring—not just with me, but with everyone she meets. She is the greatest blessing in my life, and not a day goes by that I don't wonder how I got so lucky.
Cultural Diversity
Our priorities include education and raising a mindful, open-minded child who embraces cultural diversity and inclusion. Cuong came to the U.S. as a refugee at the age of one, and his family has grown into a vibrant Asian-American community with deep roots. Claudia grew up in Germany and spent six years living in Sweden before deciding to move to the United States.
Our extended families and close friends reflect a wide range of cultural backgrounds—from Europe, Asia, the U.S., and beyond—as well as a diversity of sexual orientations and gender identities.
With our multicultural backgrounds, we place great importance on teaching acceptance and compassion. We strive to instill the message that all people are equal and deserve to be treated with respect and dignity.
We both value open communication and creating an inclusive environment. We want to encourage children to explore all facets of life, to be curious and empathetic, and ultimately to grow into kind, thoughtful individuals—perhaps even better than we could ever be ourselves. Our goal is to raise, guide, and support a child with love and patience, and to give them everything they need to become exactly who they are meant to be.

Our House and Neighborhood

We are happy to live in a house located in a quiet neighborhood called Olinder, near Downtown San José.
Our home is a single-family, detached house with four bedrooms and three bathrooms, as well as a patio and a spacious backyard garden. Since we have extra bedrooms, the child will be able to have their own room.
Right across the street, there is a park and a creek, featuring open meadows, playgrounds, tennis and basketball courts, and an elementary school nearby. Other important amenities in the area include community centers, shopping facilities, and hospitals.
Our neighborhood is peaceful and safe—a place where neighbors know each other and often exchange greetings on the street. Many families with children gather in the park to play and socialize. On sunny days, both children and adults can be seen smiling, playing sports, and enjoying the outdoors, which gives the area a cheerful atmosphere.
We feel very privileged to have a home where we feel happy and safe, and we deeply appreciate that. Living with our three small, wonderful dogs has also been a true blessing. They are gentle, curious, and always behave carefully around children.
We've created a warm, welcoming space with cozy rooms, safe outdoor areas, and plenty of room to play, learn, and grow. The rhythm of life here is calm and joyful—perfect for nurturing a child's sense of wonder and belonging.
Our Extended Families

Family is an integral part in our lives, and we spend a lot of time together.
Cuong's parents and extended family members all live in close distance from us, which makes getting together for family gatherings very easy. Every major holiday and celebration involves everyone meeting at our house for food and entertainment. We spend a lot of time with Cuong's sister Thanh, his cousin Joann and their spouses, and attend events together or go for weekend trips. We also count all the family pets as family members, what turns many family gatherings into a zoo.

Claudia's family lives in Germany, but nevertheless she is very close to them. Cuong has a really good relationship with them, even though they cannot meet as often. Due to the distance, Claudia's parents, in addition to her brother Robert and his family, regularly chat on the phone. As Robert's son is also Claudia's godchild frequent visits are a must!
We went on a trip with Cuong's family to visit their home country of Vietnam. While in Vietnam, we got to meet additional family members for the first time in our lives which was a highlight of our vacation there.
Our family is excited to welcome a new addition to our family, and we have a great support system and a loving environment.
From Us to You

First and foremost, we want to express our deepest gratitude for taking the time to read our profile. As we write this letter, words can hardly capture the excitement and emotions in our hearts. We know how deeply life can change through the gift of open adoption, and we are so humbled to be part of this journey with you.
While this profile is not long enough to share every detail of our lives, we hope it offers a glimpse into who we are. Our home is filled with love, laughter, and a sense of joy that comes from the simple things - whether it's listening to a wide variety of music from classical to Disney songs, sharing jokes, or cuddling with our dogs who are very much a part of our family. We have a lot of fun, and we are constantly reminded that life is about embracing the messy moments. Yes, there's often dog hair on the floors, our bed is rarely made, and you'll probably find dishes in the sink. But in our home, we believe in honesty, saying we're sorry when we need to, forgiving one another, and always keeping our promises. Above all, we love with our whole hearts, and we do our best to always nurture a sense of kindness and warmth.
We both have careers in the natural sciences, and we feel fortunate to be in a place where our jobs offer stability and growth opportunities. Cuong has been with his company for over 15 years, and he's proud to have helped it grow from the very beginning. Claudia spent three years as a researcher at Stanford University and now works as a Scientist at a respected vaccine company. We are grateful for the financial stability that allows us to support a growing family.
From the beginning of our relationship, adoption has been part of our journey. We have both had experiences caring for and loving children who are not our biological relatives, and we know that love has no boundaries. We are committed to welcoming a child into our hearts and lives, regardless of biological connection.
We've been close friends since 2013 and became husband and wife in 2019. We've built a stable, loving partnership, and we are eager to share that with a child. We recognize that not every child has the privilege of growing up in a loving, supportive environment, and we hope to offer that to a child through adoption.
Though we both have demanding careers, we place great value on our private lives and make sure to prioritize quality time together. We're fully committed to balancing our professional lives with our personal lives, making our future family a priority. When we become parents, we will always be there for each other and for our child, providing a secure, nurturing, and loving environment.
We are excited to begin this journey and are drawn to open adoption because we believe in the importance of a child knowing their full story - their origins and the journey that brought us together. We are open to the level of openness that feels right for you and we understand that this relationship may evolve over time. If you choose us, we would be honored to keep you connected to your child's journey by sending letters and photos to celebrate key milestones and accomplishments. We would love to stay in touch through phone calls, video chats, and emails, so you can get a glimpse of your child's everyday life. Looking ahead, we are excited about the possibility of arranging visits, allowing your child the chance to build a relationship with you and get to know other members of your family.
It is an incredible honor to be considered as parents for your little one, and if you're open to it, we would be humbled to have you in our lives as we move forward in this process. Growing our family through adoption has always been a dream of ours, and we are ready and excited to see it come true.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Cuong & Claudia
