To make sure we're always exploring, we make it a priority to take at least one big trip together each year, venturing to a new state and immersing ourselves in its unique landscape, history, and culture. So far, we've explored over 45 cities across the US together and one overseas trip.

We envision family hikes where little legs race ahead on the trail, road trips with singalongs and games in the backseat, and evenings spent sharing stories and photos from our adventures. We live on a vibrant Army installation in Colorado, surrounded by a close-knit community that feels like one big family. Our cozy, 3-bedroom house is the perfect place to raise a child, with the added bonus of knowing there are always other kids nearby to play with! We love spending time in our bright and spacious living room, where we can imagine countless game nights, movie marathons, and cozy evenings reading bedtime stories.

Life on post offers a unique and supportive environment for families. We have not one, but numerous playgrounds within easy walking distance, and there's always something going on, from child-sponsored activities to community events. We especially love the annual Christmas Tree Celebration, where families gather for caroling, hot cocoa, and festive cheer. Plus, we have top-notch schools just a stone's throw from our front door. Safety is paramount on post, giving us peace of mind knowing that children are free to run and play in a secure environment. We can't wait to watch a child thrive in this special and supportive community.

Both of our parents live in Tennessee, a short plane ride away. Even though we don't get to see them as often as we'd like, we stay closely connected with frequent calls and cherish our visits, which are always filled with laughter, shared meals, and catching up on life. They are both over the moon about becoming grandparents and are already clearing their calendars for visits once a child arrives!

Every other year, we take a big family vacation with them for the holidays - it's always a highlight! Katie also has a brother, Ross, who lives on the West Coast.
