Dhaval & Kali
Hello! Being parents is something we have been excited about since the beginning of our relationship and we are now looking forward to growing our family through adoption. We know our journey to become parents would not be possible without you, so thank you for letting us share our profile with you. Should you choose to consider us as part of your adoption plan we look forward to getting to know you through the process.
What It Means to Become Parents
Becoming parents and raising a child is something we have both always wanted as part of our life together. We can't wait to watch this tiny human grow into a person and help them figure out who they are and what they will become. By sharing our life, a nurturing home, and providing unconditional love we hope to raise a child who will become a valuable and caring member of their community. We want to provide a safe and happy home that will allow a child to be themselves and grow up happy and healthy. We are excited to experience all the challenges and joys of parenting a child!
Our child's adoption story is something we will always honor. We plan on talking about adoption as part of the child's story right from the beginning, and will always encourage questions and discussions about adoption as they come up. We believe that being open and honest about adoption will help build bonds and trust as a family and help us all better understand our unique family. No matter your and the baby's background we would encourage them to embrace their birth culture as they grow up. Being able to engage with and honor their adoption story is important to us and something we plan on encouraging throughout the child's upbringing.
Our Lifestyle
We both genuinely love our life together and can't wait to introduce a child into our experiences. We both choose to live in beautiful Colorado right by the mountains and love how our city is active and friendly. We've made a conscious effort to surround ourselves with family and friends and spend a lot of time enjoying BBQs and game nights. We both tend to be low key and enjoy relaxing at home just as much as going into the city for the day and visiting zoos and museums. A night at home is usually filled with cooking, reading, or binge watching our favorite TV shows or true crime documentaries. When we go out we love to try new restaurants or go to the movies.
One of our favorite things to do as a couple is traveling and experiencing new places. Both of our extended families also love to travel and experience new cultures, so it is only natural that they would pass that along to us. We are always planning our next trip and have been lucky enough to be able to travel internationally, as well as throughout the U.S. While Kali loves visiting museums and historical sites, Dhaval's favorite part is trying the local foods. We hope to plan age appropriate vacations throughout the child's life and include them in our love of travel. We especially can't wait until they are old enough for a Disney World trip!
Cultural Diversity
Although we come from very different cultural backgrounds we have always been open and inclusive with each other about those differences, and include a blend of Indian and American traditions in our life together. Additionally we have extended family members and close friends from a variety of cultural backgrounds. We feel this gives us a unique understanding of the importance of cultural heritage and how to blend different backgrounds into a family. We plan to include culturally inclusive activities and people in the child's life when they are young and talk to them about their heritage, and their adoption story, early and often. As the child grows older into a young adult we will continue to encourage an interest and make sure they have access to events, activities, and people that will make them feel connected to their birth culture.

Our House and Neighborhood
We love where we live and can't think of a better place to be for us and our family. Our mid-sized city always has a fun event or festival going on, everything from outdoor music concerts, food and art festivals, and even an annual ice sculpting fair. It is a great place to raise a child with lots of social and educational opportunities, and a community that celebrates families of all shapes and sizes.
Our neighborhood includes lots of families with kids and will soon have a brand new elementary school and a children’s museum. We walk out our backyard into green spaces with walking trails and parks, and are just a five-minute walk from our community pool and gathering space. We are also less than an hour from a larger city with fun museums and a zoo, or if we want to get out into nature the Rocky Mountains are less than an hour away as well.
Our Extended Families
We are lucky to have an amazing support network of family close by. Kali's sister, brother-in-law, and their two children live in the same neighborhood as us and we have a tradition of spending Sunday evenings with them and their kiddos every week. Kali's parents and extended family also live in the same or neighboring cities as us and we love getting together for family dinners and game nights. During summers, we have picnics in the park or watch live music outdoors.
While Dhaval's parents and sister don't live as close by, they come to stay with us for an extended visit every year and video chat frequently. While our families may come from different cultural backgrounds, we blend together easily and all consider family to be incredibly important. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins will be actively involved in the child's life and upbringing. They all have a lot of love to give and are excited and anxiously waiting for a new baby to join the family.
From Us to You
Thank you for taking the time to 'meet' us. We met in 2013 and had a whirlwind romance where we quickly realized we wanted to spend our life together. Coming from different cultural backgrounds we ended up having two weddings for both of our families, a large traditional Indian ceremony and a smaller American wedding. We've been married now going on eight years and we still make each other laugh every day and have a very stable and loving marriage. We always make sure to support and encourage each other and continue to grow our partnership. From the very beginning of our relationship we knew that biological children might not be an option for us and always talked about adoption as the best way for us to become parents and open our home to a child. We've always worked well together and we know adoption will bring us even closer as a family. Raising a child has always been a dream of ours and we will always strive to provide a stable home and unconditional love.
We are incredibly lucky that only Dhaval needs to work and Kali will be able to stay home. While Kali has loved her job working for our local public library, she can't wait to be a stay-at-home mom and read lots of bedtime stories. We hope to create a home where we always encourage curiosity and creativity and foster a love for learning and play. We want you to know that what is best for the child will always be our first priority and we are both completely invested in being affectionate, nurturing and hands on parents.
Due to our family already being multicultural we feel confident that we can provide an understanding, welcoming and diverse family, not just us but our extended family as well. No matter your and the baby's background we would encourage the child to embrace their birth culture as they grow up. Being able to engage with and honor their adoption story is important to us and something we plan on encouraging throughout the child's upbringing.
We know our journey to become parents would not be possible without you, so thank you again for spending time with our profile, and we want you to know that should you choose to consider us as part of your adoption plan we look forward to getting to know you as well. We are interested in learning more about what kind of post-adoption communication you would like to have and promise to follow through and be open with post-placement contact. We want you to be comfortable and respect your feelings throughout the process of adoption and after, so we're open to what you are most comfortable with, whether it is letters, emails, texts, photos, and/or video calls. If in person visits are something you would look forward to, we are also open to that. We want you to feel comfortable with the choice you are making and welcome any questions you might have for us.
Sincerely,
Dhaval & Kali
